In twenty minutes you can be in Peel Forest, Pleasant point or Temuka just 20 minutes more and you are at the seaside at Caroline Bay, in Timaru, Tekapo or the Ashburton Lakes.
Aoraki Mount Cook and Lake’s Tekapo, Opuha, Heron and Pukaki are popular day tours and treks.
